WHY EVERY HOME SHOULD PROBABLY HAVE A KEURIG KOLD
In 1998, the office world was introduced to Keurig.
By 2004, Keurig coffee machines were in residential homes and there were more than 13 types of coffee and tea to be processed in them. And in 2015 the company launched Keurig Kold.
It is “the coolest thing to happen to cold drinks,” the Keurig website says. And it’s true! Users may make soda and even seltzer without C02 canisters. COnsumers may also make cocktail mixers and margaritas — just add alcohol once brewed.
This new iced drink maker comes in two colors — black or white. It offers the perfectly chilled beverage without ice, at about 39 degrees. There are only about 100 calories per 8 ounce beverage.
With the different sodas, craft sodas, mixers, flavored water and iced teas — all in individual K-cups — consumers may try them all. Amazon carries a couple varieties of Pod packs to choose from.
Kold is bigger than the regular home Keurig at about 17 inches tall and 12 inches wide. It is very easy to use, but it does take up a lot of counter room. It’s also a little noisy.
Kold comes with instructions and two glasses, but drink pods are sold separately.
Based on 278 reviews, the Kold received 3.6 stars out of 5. Sixty seven percent would refer Kold to a friend.

A lot of the reviews mention that the pods are wasteful, so Keurig came up with a solution. Keurigrecycling.com promises by 2020 their pods will be 100-percent recyclable. Until then, here are some ideas on how to reuse your Kold K Cups.
- Cut a slit in the K Cup and use it to hold your playing cards. Perfect poker hand (cup).
- Use them to contain small craft items, like buttons, paperclips or push pins.
- Put a bunch of different colored on in a basket in the toy room. Kids can build towers and knock them down.
- Use them to help teach your child different coins. Each cup gets a certain coin. Add and subtract them.
- Great for the water table. Poke a hole in the bottom of them and watch the water stream out.
Now that you have purchased the Kold and all the different flavors of beverages, you may wonder where you can store them all. Amazon offers a number of storage options for your pods. There are rotating racks, under the device drawers, and even under a cabinet storage option.
Keurig also offers its own glassware custom made for Keurig Kold. It comes with a set of two, 16-ounce, artisan-style glasses. Margarita glasses can also be purchased if you are planning on serving Kold Ritas and Tinas Classic Margaritas.
Hopefully the Kold finds its way into your home. But if it makes it to a friend’s home, even better. It means that you will have an easy list of gifts to get them. Put together a margarita glass, couple of Ritas and Tinas and a bottle Tequila and you have a wonderful hostess gift. For the coffee or hot tea drinker, give a gift of a nice mug and coffee k-cups.
Keep an eye out, rumor has it that Keurig is trying to figure out a way to come up with alcohol K-cups.
