If you are thinking about next Christmas or New Year’s Eve as a wedding day, or a date close by, then why not buy after-Christmas and New Year’s decorations now for the event?

TIPS FOR PLANNING
Reception Hall Help
Booking a reception hall, caterer and DJ also need to happen early in the planning process. Many people aren’t thinking about their summer wedding when it is snowing outside, so now would be a great time to contact your ideal reception hall to get your date.
If you are using a reception hall, find out if they host a bridal show. When it does, make sure to attend, because those vendors are the ones the reception hall usual use and you can usually get great discounts or coupons for those vendors just for attending.
Before you go, get a bunch of address labels and add your phone number to it. (Some will print them for you at the event.) This is a quick way to enter in the vendor’s drawings where you could win money off, or even a completely free service. But don’t be swayed to commit to anyone while you are there.
Take the information and do your research to find what fits best in your budget.
If you get to pick a caterer, try going for a chain restaurant. Then pay the catering bill with gift cards. Buy them from Sam’s, Costco or directly from the restaurant and get a discount on bulk.
Find a dress you love and buy it on line at a reputable bridal website like www.madamebridal.com that provides free shipping and matching earrings. And never let a bridal store do your alterations, way too expensive. Ask around town to see what local seamstress is the best.
The best advice I was given was, “just ask.” It doesn’t hurt to ask for discounts or deals. Everyone knows that weddings cost a fortune, so asking isn’t an unheard of thing.
