BUY THESE ITEMS IN FEBRUARY — AND SAVE!
Winter has finally hit and it seems like all the sales sites and shopping advisors are urging us to buy…boats? Well, it makes sense if you think about it. While much of the country is blanketed under the snow, manufacturers of products meant for sun and fun have to clear out their showrooms of last year’s style to make room for the season ahead — even if it’s still months away. So what else can you save on in February?
SUPER BOWL, SUPER DEALS ON TVS
For January, I discovered that TVs are on sale, but I didn’t realize that as we get closer to Super Bowl, the prices drop even further. In fact, Jaeme Laczkowski, Director, Media Relations at Walmart says “With the Super Bowl right around the corner, we know customers are looking to upgrade their TVs. In fact, we expect to sell enough TVs in the three weeks before the big game this year to build 100 video screens the size of the one in AT&T Stadium.” That’s a lot of TVs, but what about the prices? Laczkowski says that “Customers can count on us for great prices, like a 55” LG 4K UHD TV for $698, which is a $300 savings and a 55” Vizio Smart LED HDTV for $568.” (Check out some of these other amazing TV prices)
THINK SUMMER CAMP
Okay, we’ve got home entertainment covered, but what about getaways? Believe it or not, February is a great time to start thinking about summer vacations. Boulder-based Avid4 Adventure offers multi-sport day camps, single sport day camps and an overnight adventure camp for pre-k through 12th graders that attracts campers nationwide. During the month of February, parents can receive $25 off of day camps and $70 off of overnight camp by using the “Earlybird” code. Avid also offers $20 refer-a-friend specials for first time Avid campers, parents can combine discounts but will need to call customer service. Now would be a great time to contact different summer camps to see if they’re willing to offer similar or better discounts. Ask if there are sales for multiple campers, longer stays or first time campers as well.
One of the best parts of Presidents Day are the incredibly impressive savings. Start now by researching the tech or wardrobe staples you’d like to upgrade or replenish and start to clip coupons or save coupon codes. If past years are anything to go by, mattress and bedding sales will also be impressive in February. Check out the 50% off Slipper Chairs at Target.
SHOP CLEARANCE RACKS (AND ONLINE SALES)
A lot of stores will have unadvertised sales, so if you’re the type to window shop before you stock up, you’ll notice a lot of extra racks of clothing and even home goods crammed together toward the back of most sales floors. If shopping online is your thing, after clicking the “sale” button, explore until you find even steeper savings or clearance sales.
LINGERIE & SLEEPWARE
It’s so romantic when your honey buys you a sexy, silky something for Valentine’s Day, isn’t it? Though if you’re the kind of person who prefers to choose your own undies, this is a great time of year to do it. While everyone is busy choosing the red and pink Valentine’s Day undergarments, you can expect that the slightly older styles of bras, panties and even nightwear will be on sale.
