Like car models, big ticket electronic items can be more coveted based on the year of release. So while we’re barely into 2016, the 2015 models are already less interesting to some folks. And according to Chaim Haas a long-time tech industry veteran, “The week before the Super Bowl (this year, first week of February) can be the best time to hunt for a high-end, super-sized flat screen.”

Wait. I thought TV’s would go up in price before Super Bowl, but Haas says that the new models are introduced during the first week of January at the Consumer Electronics Show that takes place every year in Las Vegas.

Haas says, “It’s an old trick that’s well known in the Consumer Electronics industry, but many consumers don’t know it and that’s why they all run out on Black Friday to get TVs.”
